Part 3 – Blog Content Brainstorming
Sure, here are a few brainstorming ideas for blog
content that might be of interest to your target audience:
- "The Top 10 Mistakes [Your Niche] Beginners Make and How to Avoid Them": This type of post can be very valuable for readers who are new to your niche, as it provides specific, actionable advice on common mistakes to avoid.
- "How to [Solve a Specific Problem] in [Your Niche]": If your niche is one in which people often have specific problems they need to solve, a tutorial-style post on how to solve one of those problems could be very popular.
- "The Future of [Your Niche]: A Look Ahead": If your niche is one that is evolving and changing quickly, sharing your thoughts on where you think it's headed can be a great way to attract readers and establish yourself as a thought leader in the space.
- "Interviews with [Experts in Your Niche]": If there are well-known experts in your niche, interviewing them and sharing their insights can be a great way to attract readers and establish yourself as a hub of information and knowledge.
- "Real-world Case studies [in Your Niche]: Success and Lessons learned": Sharing stories of people or business who have succeeded using methods or tactics in your niche can be a powerful way to establish authority and provide inspiration to your audience.
- "Compare and contrast various options available in the market": Reviewing different options within a product category or service can be helpful for people who are trying to make a purchase decision. It also allows for monetization through affiliate marketing.
- "A day in the life" or "Behind the scenes" look: Giving a glimpse of what it's like to be in a certain profession or running a business in your niche can be a great way to provide an interesting and unique perspective on your niche.
These are just a few examples, but hopefully they give you an idea of the types of content your target audience might enjoy. Remember, you know your niche and target audience better than I do, so thinking about what they want to know or what they want to read can be a good place to start.
The best way to think is to see what other bloggers have to say about things that are going on in your discussion area. The best way to find related blogs is to use http://blogsearch.google.com/ or www.technorati.com. There are other decent search tools as well, just take a look around. From other blogs, you can gather more knowledge about your topic and you can also comment on what others are saying on your own blog!
2) Once you connect with other bloggers in your field, you will have an endless 'conversation', so you don't need to actively search for content to write about. However, if you are still stuck, look for news articles related to your niche in local newspapers or online through sites such as http://news.google.com and http://news.yahoo.com.
3) You can also start conversations with people who have the same interests as you in your chosen field, so you will end up creating a bank of interesting questions, answers, and discussions to post on your blog. To do this, join forums related to your industry, but don't join all forums. Stick to one or two with the most members or one that is more focused on your niche. It will also come in handy later on to gain traffic and generate income.
Remember to keep your momentum going by posting at least once a day (or more often if you have a lot of content to write) so that the major search engines know your blog has new content every day. This will encourage search engines to clean your page more frequently, which will increase your traffic.
Don't worry about the above paragraph about traffic generation and search engines, because we'll talk more about that later. For now, remember to maintain a steady effort every day and build momentum like a locomotive!
